Eric and Jennelle for Avery's First birthday, March 2009

My best man Erik Olson hadn't skied in quite a while and had some time after returning home
from Antarctica this year. So, we decided to make a tour up to Lake Louise. Erik was a little
concerned about being cold, so he layered like he was going to the South Pole.

Since it was Erik's first time skiing in about 5 years, I decided to take it easy on him.
Here he is kicking up powder in the Paradise Bowl. You can see the bent Thumb-Breaker poles
he's running too.

We took a break at Temple to cool off and eat something. Here's Erik doing the "Hey Ladies!" bit

After dropping 2 or 3 layers, he was still putting out steam. Yeah, okay, I might have
worked him a little hard on some mogul runs.

After lunch, we headed over to the Summit Platter. This is a picture of Erik walking back
up the mountain to get his pole that he left in a tree. Nice work buddy!

This is the podium that the racers use for Winterstart. Erik was the number 1 skier on this day.

We stopped at the Banff Upper Hot Springs to let the burning quads have a rest.

I had a guy take this for us. He asked, "Um, do you want to hold hands?" I think we should
have beaten him there.
