This year my family decided to host 'camping' at Elkwater, even though it's
properly 'cabining'. We rented the 'Alpine' cabins, not the rustic ones
and while the space here was good (2 bedroom units with kitchenettes), the amount of
sharp concrete and cement meant that it wasn't terrific for toddlers to run around.

We took the kids for a walk and went to the lake. The lake is actually quite nice here, although it's
basically bald prairie to the north and beautiful evergreens to the south. A bit of an odd piece
of geography actually.

When Henry found out this place had mini-golf, he got pretty excited and we basically stalked
it until it opened at 8:30am. It's free to play and you just leave a donation.

I've never seen this plant before. It starts out green and fuzzy in these pods, turns more reddish,
and then turns black, sometimes even on the same plant! Henry and I picked a couple of these to
try to identify them but then something else shinier came up.

I love this photo since Henry finally stopped holding Walter back and he made a run for it. Some of
the other couple of hundred photos are equally hilarious, but not really printable due to eyes closed
heads not looking, etc.
