We have had so much fun biking in Fernie over the years that we went back for
another round. We couldn't get a long window, so it was only three nights, but we still
managed to do a few things we like doing and a few we haven't done before.
First some photos of Walter at the Fitset ninja place with his friend Niko

This was the first time we tried out the new bug net from AA's wife Laura, along with the first
time the boys slept in their own tent - BIG WIN!

One of the upsides of the Fernie RV Resort is that we can bike for ice cream to Happy Cow. The boys
discovered mango sorbet and they thought they won the lottery.

Reading in their tents at night, BY THEMSELVES! While there was definitely a lot of giggling and
staying up late, I think keeping them in their own tent was a massive win.

Riding at the bike park in town is a fun time for the boys as they work to try to finally get
their tires off the ground.
Henry getting back up the bike park hill and Walter jumping the first blue jump

Henry is a big fan of figuring out the map wherever we are. This is near the cemetery trails
on the way up Kid Up to Space Unicorn.
Full size
I didn't get any footage of the boys or Natalia on Space Unicorns, but it was a lot of fun. Here are
the kids pedaling back to the bike park for lunch.
Walter doing a slo-mo jump

A great T shirt I should have bought in Fernie.
Swimming at Surveyor's Lake
Full size
After a hot morning of biking, we went for a drive out to Surveyor's Lake to enjoy a wonderful lake.
Our friend Tanya came along and supplied us big time with floaties that we hadn't brought.
Full size
Henry and Lyndon went out on the kayak and SUP and could have spent hours toodling around.
Full size
How fun is this lake? Did I mention it's the furthest north you can find Western painted turtles?
Full size
The boys really wanted to ride the 'hydro-bike' together even though they kept dropping the chain.
Full size
Tanya also loves just floating around the lake, along with swimming too.
Full size
We stopped at 3/93 dairy bar on the way back into town. They were out of soft serve, but check out
the size of the single scoop cones! These kids were over the moon.

Walter and Natalia riding back from Trail Dogs.
Full size
Not a terrible day to ride bikes in Fernie!
Full size
After a pile of steps and clicking, I got us vouchers for a free sightseeing tour up the Elk
chair at Fernie for the whole family. Take that Murray Edwards!
Full size
While it was smoking hot in the sun, the shaded kids' playground was a huge hit for our boys.
Full size
Pulleys, sand boxes, cedar boardwalks, what more can you ask for?
Full size
And a chairlift 'swing' for the old people too!
Full size
We had a window on our way home and the boys didn't want to ride bikes again at Crowsnest Pass.
So we stopped for a walk about at the Bar U Ranch.

Check out the vintage on this peanut butter - they know what time it is - Crunchy time!
Full size
Some of the horse barns. They were very well-known for their Percheron horses and their contribution
to the ranching of Alberta with two of the 'Big Four' coming out of this place. See more about them HERE .

The first Canadian flag, called the Canadian Red Ensign.
Good times at Calaway Park
Full size
We had a window to hit up Calaway before it closed and we did just that. Walter and
I on the big swings. He's working on his moodiness.
Full size
Grayson bought Walter a gold chain from 7-11 and they each have half. Check out Grayson's
cool muscle shirt. These two are quite the pair.
Full size
Rhys and Henry convinced each other to crush the roller coaster.
Full size
These two got mini-dots and they were over the moon.
Full size
And these two got pretzels. Hot tip - if you're the last person buying a warm pretzel, they'll
likely clean out the batch for you since if they take it home, they're stealing.

On wave rider together. With their chains. Yup.
