We took a tour out to Diamond Valley to see my cousin Leanne and her partner Andy. This is at Vale's
Greenhouse, which Natalia LOVED. Henry isn't in the photo since I had scared him and he went and pouted.

Camping in Jasper

This is the view from Wapiti campground, where we stayed for three nights. I wanted to show the boys what a
burned-out forest looks like and right from the campsite, you could see it.

A better look at the forest across the Athabasca from Wapiti.

Henry and I out for a hike in Maligne Lake area. We were planning to take the tram but it
had some kind of power outage so we went hiking instead.

Henry liked this globe in the park in Jasper.

The boys actually packed their own suitcases on this trip, although Walter needed a fair amount
of supervising. They didn't even realize that they had packed matching outfits, let alone put them
both on for the same day.

We took a biking day to go from the campsite up to Pyramid Lake. Here's the area around the
campsite as we headed into town.

Walter is quite comfortable on his bike now and able to ride most trails. When it gets a bit
steeper, he tends to default to pushing his bike, but he's pretty capable.

Even though the breeze was quite brisk, there was heat in the sun, and these nicely stained
benches were lovely and warm.

So much so that the boys lied down on them.

Henry had wanted to rent kayaks, so we paid the exorbitant fare ($85/hour) to Brewster's and took this
guy out. The wind threw us around a bit, but Henry was pretty happy to kayak around. He said he
prefers lakes with no wind though, so I'll have to put that into the order next time.

Riding down 'Star Wars'. There are definitely better trails in the area, but we thought with a
name like Star Wars, it must be awesome. Lots of roots and not super well-maintained, but fun to
ride in the forest.

Henry, waiting for Natalia and Walter on the way back down. The boys managed to bike almost 35km
along with 450m of elevation on this day, so definitely a high point in their biking.

Our bikes racked in an angled rack that actually worked reasonably well for mixed bikes.

The boys were stoked to get Shirley Temples and warm pretzels at Jasper Brewing. For reference,
we would go back ANYTIME to 'Something Else' steakhouse and Jasper Pizza Company, but Jasper Brewing
was kind of 'meh'.
