Henry has taken to drawing ski lifts of all shapes and sizes lately. This is part of why
I bring home ski maps, since it seems like he likes it. The lower half of this image is the 'chair',
apparently.

These are the names of the runs that Henry named.
Henry at Sunshine Village

I took Henry for a hookie day from school to Sunshine Village. Here he is enjoying the brisk
start to the day after going up the gondola.

Henry thought the Teepee Town chair with its wind shield and heated seats was the cat's pyjamas.
Skiing at West Bragg

Because the temps were perfect for it, we took the boys for a session at West Bragg Creek. Here's
Walter before he decided to try out poles for the first time.

I convinced Henry to wear his glasses and he was quite thankful for the visual acuity. Note that
he's now onto the ice cream.

Henry and I at the Flames game and Henry got his new green Flames hat.

As spring starts to hit our town, Henry gets excited about having his electric scooter out. But before
we can do that, we have to clear gravel. And to make the point even better, Walter immediately ate it
on the gravel as Henry was clearing.
XC skiing at West Bragg

We went back out to West Bragg for more skiing and the boys loved their time in the snow. Here's
Henry in a snow cave.

We decided to book a last minute weekend at Kicking Horse since the snow was decent and the boys were
enjoying it so much. We booked in at the Aspens 15, which isn't quite ski-in/ski-out, but with a bit
of schlepping about, you can make it work. Here's Henry with our front yard snow pile.

After climbing up maybe ~10m vertically, we get onto the ski back to the gondy. Walter could make it
but I think it would be tough for smaller kids.

The boys like the Minute Maid kids' zone as they look for and count mascots.

Amazingly, I convinced Walter to take the big gondola all the way up and do a big boy run.

Our visibility wasn't amazing, but I'll always trade viz for snow, which they actually had some fresh
and nice stuff here in the upper bowls.

Walter managed to ski the entire way down the 'It's a 10' run (10 km long) without stopping! He's an
absolute machine and did great!
Full size
Henry got to do three runs on the gondy at KHMR, which is pretty stellar. This is the look from
the top of Eagle Express.

Beer and chips in the sun after skiing. Life is good!

We decided to ski at Dawn Mountain Nordic ski area to show the boys another place to ski. The trail hostess
came out and showed the boys some of the cones in the area and how to identify Douglas fir from spruce, pine,
hemlock, and white pine too.

Walter loves to tuck whenever he can see the end of a hill in sight and he's not scared.

There's a cool little warming up just as you get close to the parking lot and the boys thought
it was a neat spot to check out. They had a bunch of beaver pictures and facts on the wall
and it caught my attention that beavers have orange teeth, so that's something to know!

I LOVE this photo of Walter, and I also love that the psych help 5 cents box from Peanuts has been
changed to 5 km, which is how skiing helps mental health all day long.
