Grace and her parents and my Mom came to join us for the Cochrane Labour Day Rodeo Weekend.
First the solar eclipse

Southern Alberta wound up being ~90% for the viewing of the solar eclipse in Aug 2017. It
happened to be a day that I was taking a long weekend so Henry and I decided to go to the
Science Centre in Calgary to see the eclipse through a telescope. Well, we would been better
served by going to the Mitford Park event instead as it was a clown show at the Telus centre.
Here's a view of the line-up to see the telescope. Craziness.

After the moon had passed out of the sun's path, the line-up came down a lot and Henry and I lined
up to look at the sun anyway.

"Daddy, I got to see spots on the sun." Pretty cool for a three-year-old.

And then afterwards we got to hit up Peter's Drive-in. Yummy! And Henry ate like a real human
instead of having his bites cut up first.
Some Henry and Walter photos

Walter hanging out at our house. Check out the smiles!

Susi came down for a visit from Edmonton to meet Walter.

Susi brought Henry an abacus and he was pretty excited about it.

What a funny little guy! Thanks to Sus for this photo.

Henry likes to explore our rec centre. When he saw older kids playing ping pong, he decided that
he wanted to try this out.

Henry on the planes at Calaway Park on a nice day in August.

Of all the times we've been to Calaway, this was Henry's first time that he got to sit in the front
of the mini roller coaster.

Check out this very happy little boy. This is at the 'dump truck' park up in Sunrise.

It turns out that going for a bike ride like this is 'detraining' according to my Fenix. Pretty low
intensity coupled with a lot of breaks to check out parks in the area.

We tried out Walter in the bouncy chair this week. He's pretty close to being able to jump on his own.
