Once again we took our kids for a party at Old Macdonald's near Stettler
in Central Alberta. They love the beach and the ridiculous kid stuff and we got to
go again with Erin and Blaine, which always makes it more fun.

The first night I went in with Henry only since Walter was still recovering from pink eye.
Here's Henry having supper, which is a lot easier to manage without the 5 year old.
Full size
Henry and I picked up donuts for the kids and brought them from the Donut Mill in Red Deer.
Full size
One of the things the kids enjoy the most is just biking around and being more independent. I did
pack walkie talkies and that allowed the older kids to go a bit more and further from the camp site.
Full size
Henry and Gracie got to ride on the pedal bikes without the little kids and they thought they
had won the lottery. Henry wanted to ride on the single, Gracie wanted to ride on the double
so they compromised and went on the double.

One of the great things about this campground is their candy store (in the eyes of an 8 year old). This
is the result of Henry seeing some of his first advertising and telling me that gummy rolls are amazing.
Full size
We brought the Voyager 300 raft for this trip, which the kids really enjoyed.
Full size
Digging in the sand is also a hit. Henry is showing here what happens when he digs down to the clay layer.
Full size
Jackson and Henry digging and building a tower.
Full size
Jackson and Walter in the hammock. Jackson actually fell out of the hammock since he and
Walter were 'playnig too hard', but it was a pretty fun addition to our camp gear.
Full size
Jackson's tongue as a result of too much candy.
Full size
The kids having ice cream. There are two places for ice cream here, one at the beach, and one
at Grandma's Kitchen. So naturally, the kids got ice cream pretty much every day.

Walter has the worst case of FOMO of anyone I know. I had put him to sleep in the tent and of course
he was worried he was missing something so I looked over to the tent and saw this little head.

For days with rain, the 'museum' (read building filled with vintage farm equipment and stuff) and the
mini golf is a hit. There's also an arcade in here too.
Full size
And then chasing the Triple Nickel around the campground too.

And having some snacks after the bike ride.
Full size
Part of the attraction to this area is the fact that the lake goes out hundreds of metres and is
super shallow. So kids can play and you're not worried that they're going to drown.
Full size
Henry eating Doritos with Gracie as they dry off.
Full size
Walter and Izzy playing in the sand together.
Full size
We went on the Double Dime train ride again and the kids (as usual) loved it. Walter and Jackson
got to ride 'by themselves' and thought they were big kids.
Full size
Walter digging in the pool zone to feed water to his 'huge diamond' pool we dug.
Playing in Red Deer
Full size
Since we were driving through, we popped into Red Deer to get some cousin time. Here's my sister
Danielle making glitter tattoos for the kids.
Full size
Henry doing the dab and the kids making crazy faces.
The Cochrane Fair
Full size
Since Natalia is on the board and the Fair committee, she came home a couple of days early to
get ready. Here's one of her many contributions to the Fair to make it more family-friendly -
a dig pit for kids in the wood shavings. Every time we came by this area, it was full of kids.
Full size
This was the first thing the boys wanted to see - the Reptile World exhibit. That's a white
ball python that Henry is looking at.
Full size
Walter did mutton busting again, so got his photo taken with a sheep.
